Ada (OK) High School Reunion Talk
October 6th, 2009The Author has accepted an invitation to speak at a reception-program of the Ada, Oklahoma, High School Class of 1949 to help that class mark the 60th anniversary of their graduation from high school. The program is scheduled at 2 p.m. , Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel in Ada, Oklahoma.
An illustrated talk on a bit of the history of Korea through the centuries, touching on how the United States became more involved in the Far East through some action in the early 1900s during the administration of President Theodore Roosevelt, the four decades of harsh rule of Korea by Japan, and then the newest division of that land following World War II and the start of the Korean War will be presented.
The author also will participate in a book signing for two of his books, Tony Dufflebag . . . and Other Remembrances of the War in Korea and One from the Least and Disappearing Generation—A Memoir of a Depression-Era Kid.
Author Spoke on Korea at Military Reunion Dinner
September 17th, 2009An illustrated talk on a bit of the history of Korea through the centuries, touching on how the United States became more involved in the Far East through some action in the early 1900s during the administration of President Theodore Roosevelt, the four decades of harsh rule of Korea by Japan, and then the newest division of that land following World War II and the start of the Korean War was presented on September 24, 2009, during an after-dinner program at the 180th Infantry Regiment Association Reunion in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The 180th Reunion is one of the activities associated with the annual 45th Infantry Division Associaton Reunion. The author also briefly reviewed the book, Tony Dufflebag . . . and Other Remembrances of the War in Korea.
